WARNING: This article contains potential spoilers for upcoming content, if you don’t want to be spoiled, then please, do not watch the video. Also, since this isn’t confirmed despite being a leak, has been categorized as a “rumour” in the blog’s categories due to ongoing changes throughout upcoming and unannounced seasons.

[GRAIN OF SALT/RUMOUR] VG247: MandyCanNot claims Crash Bandicoot will be the 6th fighter for Super Smash Bros Ultimate (with our take: unlikely, but don’t dismiss the possibility)

WARNING: Heads up! This article contains content that is speculated from a random person who claims to be a “leaker” or “insider”, it could be anything, so take it with a grain of salt as it might be incorrect or something else. Also, anything could change, or be revealed to be otherwise than thought to be.

The recent reveal of Byleth for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has given credence to a leak from October.

When Twitter user @Mandycannot leaked in October last year that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s next DLC character would be Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ Byleth, few believed him.

Our take? Anyone can make guesses and delete them before they conveniently look correct on the surface, and yes, MandyCanNot has clarified that his account was supposedly hacked by having the birthday details changed, which led to Twitter locking out the account before fixing it, contrary to people speculating that it was suspended. I’m gonna call this one unlikely, but don’t dismiss the possibility, because Nintendo has already decided on the characters, it could still mean a good chance for Crash Bandicoot to make it into Super Smash Bros Ultimate, given the significance. This post was published because it has been making the rounds recently and it is popular enough that I needed to at least make a statement about it.

In the end, the last several months have driven the point further as to not trust the so-called Smash “leakers” with how there was a lack of TGA announcement and also the fact that the 5th fighter was quite different to what most people speculated it to be.
