Crash Bandicoot in 2019. What now? (CTR/New Platformer)

Update: Turns out the 2019 game is indeed Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled!

The success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and the return of Crash Bandicoot as a whole has been quite significant to many fans and people like me who had been hoping for years after the slow demise of 2010 and hoping for Activision to consider reviving the bandicoot when those prayers were answered in 2016. To us, the series is dear to many who have played the games and loved the characters and to Activision, is that there’s a viable market, even if it’s for “nostalgia”.

However, there has been some discussion on the upcoming rumoured 2019 game, on what it could be, what it might get announced and what it could set the precedence for the franchise. To even begin, I personally felt that many people wanted a brand new game and a racer, something that we almost got in 2010 with Crash Landed (I Am Crash Bandicoot) by Radical Entertainment with Crash Team Racing by High Impact Games, both cancelled because of the February 2010 layoffs at Radical. Now what?

A special feature Interview with AntDude about Crash Bandicoot!

Another round of the special multi-interviews for Crash Bandicoot on Crashy News has been published, it is quite important to note that the format may fluctuate and change over time from deadlines, structure and publications, so keep that in mind.

Our second major “Notables” will be with Anthony, known as “AntDude”, a YouTuber who has started his channel around other video games content, especially Kirby and got in the series in terms of videos quite early, with the original Trilogy’s review video and more recently the Caddicarus collaboration with the “More Bad Games” video. Crashy News has featured several videos on the site and he will be giving his thoughts for Crash Bandicoot in this special original interview publication.

Activision Q2 2018 Conference Call: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Multiplatform “Strong Performance”

Earlier today, in Q2 2018 earnings conference call, Activision has stated that “Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy successfully launched for Xbox One, Switch, and PC in the quarter with strong performance” while it “continues to exceed expectations“.

This should put some more confidence in the future for the franchise going forwards past N. Sane Trilogy in anticipation for the launch of the rumored 2019 game, either it being a brand new platformer or a remake of Crash Team Racing (both long requested).

Quickies: NST Mods by Natsu-Ken, First 4 Figures Updates, PS1 VR for Crash Bandicoot (1996) and more

Back at it again

We’ve got some quickies to go over with, this one’s going to be short and quick like the last one.

• Natsu-Ken now has some new Crash Bandicoot apparel and model swaps available on Nexus Mods. Check them out!
• These models include: Scuba, Pilot, Jetpack, and Biker Crash Bandicoot models.
• First 4 Figures has some updates regarding progress on the Crash Bandicoot franchise with their different assortment of figurines.
  • June 29: Crash Resin is now deep in production, could come out later this year instead of Q1 2019.

  • June 8: Neo Cortex is almost ready for submission and will be the next figurine up for preorder. Jetpack Crash is currently being worked on. Sadly, Crash Kart isn’t likely going to happen. 
• Avaer Kazmer’s got something incredibly cool to show: the original Crash Bandicoot running on an emulator that has VR Mode. Yes, that’s right!
• COGMONKEY is still doing some cool stuff with the SFX/Music swapping for N. Sane Trilogy. Have a listen as he plays Warped with the Japanese Crash Bandicoot Dance Music!
• James Brunner of Pixelated Audio is preparing a new interview with Josh Mancell for the 100th Episode.

Quickies: Vicarious Visions World Cup Animation, Skylanders Crash model in NST and more!

Ay, I’m back!

We’ve got some quickies to go over with, this one’s going to be short and quick (get it?), let’s go!

• Vicarious Visions has just released a nice neat animation in vein of the final world cup match between France and Crotia (France won)
• Natsu-Ken has been able to replace the default model for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy of Crash with the Skylanders Imaginators model, since it was left unused. (Reddit – Twitter)
• For the latest weekly charts in the UK, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy takes the lead yet again at #1 with the Xbox One being the bestseller, Switch being the second bestseller in the overall charts
