This is the ninth preview video of the prototype of Crash Team Racing (PS1).
This gameplay is from the August 4th 1999, a beta version of the game built a month and a half before the final NTSC build date of September 24th 1999. This build is dongle protected, which means you can’t play via normal means, so attempting to run it will result in a black screen. We’re solving this problem, so it will eventually be released to the public. Don’t ask for a release date because even we don’t know and we’re also busy with other stuff, so please be patient and enjoy the videos.
A full documentation of the differences will be available at The Cutting Room Floor article, and a download link will be posted on Hidden Palace website. At the time, both pages are being worked on.
A HUGE thanks to almarkowbender, gdias/Darkaiser (me), Gh0stBlade, let-over-lambda, mementomori/madmarsrocks, Niko, and psx-collector for making this release possible.
Category: Content
The content that can be as final as a sweetly cooked cake or unfinished as much as an abandoned construction site, this comes for all the Crash Bandicoot games in the series, even slot machines, mind you.

Noticeable Differences:
- Tropy’s ghost is harder in this version, as he access some shortcuts that only Oxide’s ghost would do.
- Oxide’s ghost aren’t present in this build. Instead, you race against another ghost using the current player’s character.
- The ghosts are unfinished in some tracks (out of bounds), which is impossible to beat them.
- Menu differences: missing transitions, no exclamation mark in the texts, different X button icon, etc.

250crash250: Glitch shortcuts that still work (Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled)
If you’re an expert player in either the original CTR or Nitro-Fueled, you are likely to be aware of some or all of these shortcuts and that’s pretty cool but, what if you can’t pull them off or just need to quickly see how they can be pulled off?
Well, this is the video for you, and for those more casual players, prepare to be intimidated and shocked at the amount of sheer skill on display from these crazy glitch shortcuts in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. These can be pulled off as of this writing if you’re quite skilled (and have practiced and played the game enough).
