James Carey: Crash Bandicoot Interviews Radical Entertainment

When is the last time you saw the main character of a classic video game interview his developers. Well, here you go. Big shout out to the EMPIRE team, what an amazing group you were!!

[GALLERY] Via danyq94: Concept Art pieces for Crash 99x (Tiger Electronics Handheld) and Several Vivendi Crash Bandicoot Mobile Games

Concept Art of Thorn Thing, Digger and Grumbler. They are the bosses of Crash Bandicoot Tiger 99x, realized by George Fergan, one of the dev for the game.

You can find his ArtStation here.

Probably a concept/prototype version of Crash Nitro Kart 2 (J2ME/Java), presumably given the letters C R A S H on display. (Source)

In the same portfolio you can find the sprites of Crash Boom Bang mobile (J2ME/Java), and two models of Aku Aku and the Mutant Eagle shown in the Crash Of The Titans Mobile trailer.

Thanks a lot for these finds, Danyq94 (2nd Tweet)!

PeteThePlayer: How the Names in Crash Bandicoot Were Translated into Russian

I tried to go for a little analytical video combining my passion for several different things: translation/localization, the Russian and the English language, Crash Bandicoot and video editing/content creation. I hope you guys enjoy this video, even though it’s somehow even more niche than my other videos. If there is even a little bit of demand for it, I’ll try and make somewhat similar video presentations/essays of Crash bandicoot in other languages (though in a slightly altered format). Leave a comment below to let me know anything interesting related to this topic (e.g. what you liked about the video or any cool translational details you noticed in your own local versions of the games).

Alpharad: The Supercut of Crash Bandicoot (N. Sane Trilogy)

I recently realized that there are so many series that never got supercuts… so better late than never, right? 😀

Darkaiser/Mr. Crash: Crash Team Racing (Aug 5, 1999 prototype) – Early Victory Poses / Trophy Girls

In the August 5th, 1999 build, the podium is completely empty and the only thing working is the camera. However, victory poses for Crash, Coco, Tiny Tiger, Dingodile, Papu Papu, Komodo Joe, Fake Crash, and Trophy Girls already exist in the files, and some of them are in a primitive state. These files are also duplicated in the defeat animation directory as placeholders. Replacing the files of the final version or the Review Copy prototype, it’s possible to load them, although the textures won’t be loaded properly.

  • Crash, Coco, Tiny, and Fake Crash don’t have any noticeable differences.
  • Komodo Joe does a clapping animation while he dances.
  • Ami does the wagging finger animation instead of the hand-waving one.
  • Megumi doesn’t have any animations.

A raw scan and ISO dump of the E3 2004 Crash Twinsanity/Spyro: A Hero’s Tail demo disc. These were given out to attendees at E3 in 2004. As far as I’m aware, nobody has dumped it onto the web yet. (SLUS_29101)
