I just found it recently, also learned some tricks in Crash 1 so I was able to beat it.

We heard several requests to alter the mod, and Niko took the time to make the changes.

SourceOnly the AIs are randomized, not the player. This was requested by over ten people, both in the comments and in private messaging.
Crashing and freezing was fixed, the new mod does not cut Thread and Instance pools in half. We originally had a math error, and recently found that loading characters individually will always use less memory than the model packs that the game was designed to load.
This is because model packs have multiple LODs of characters while the mod only loads highest LODs. For emulators it’s a nice graphics upgrade, just like a previous video regarding LOD upgrades. Bootloader mods do not work on real PS1s yet, still working on that. Crate Mod Loader mods work on real PS1s perfectly fine.
With the new discovery that this method saves memory, OnlineCTR can potentially use this method to take advantage of newly available RAM. As a reminder, our researchers are grinding every day to make new discoveries that are needed before work on OnlineCTR resumes.
