VTNVIVI: Cut Content – Ripper Roo & More! (Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time)

Here’s some cut content of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Out of all things cut content wise, Ripper Roo certainly takes the cake.

With the release of the Art Of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time comes information about Ripper Roo originally being planned for the game.

Among other things, the extra playable characters: Dingodile, Neo Cortex and Tawna, were originally supposed to have skins (according to a datamine). For unknown reasons, all of those were cut from the game. Unused music tracks were also discovered deep within the files of the game.

PeteThePlayer: [dubbed] Crash Boom Bang! – Cutscenes

So this was a rough one. Not only is Crash Boom Bang infamous for being regarded as the single worst Crash game of the series but it also contains among the most horrible-looking footage and graphics imaginable for a DS game. Needless to say, I struggled to make this look even ~decent~ but I tried. Make sure to NOT watch this in full screen anyway though (it’s pixelated enough as is)!

Editing this beat was rough but at least I had a lot of ideas for certain setpieces so I could just jump from one to the other and have a few nice moments. Since the game solely provides stills in form of panels and textboxes, I had to make sure to edit every shot to create the various mouth shapes etc. (really cumbersome!). I really liked the lightning strike at the start of the video. I also figured that adding several anime-esque sound effect would complement this game quite well, given that it was originally released in Japan first – unlike any other game in the series.

The Japanese origin is also probably the reason why the dialogue is sooo …questionably translated I guess? It’s bad okay. But I didn’t want to change it anyway though just so it retains its ridiculousness. I did add two little pieces of extra dialogue for the Lab Assistants and Tawna just because otherwise they wouldn’t have anything to say at all and it felt like a wasted opportunity. On that note, I also had to determine who says what, because sometimes you get shots with several characters but the textboxes in the game don’t specify who’s speaking. I used that opportunity to feasibly give dialogue for as many characters as I could to avoid only having Coco, Cortex and the Viscount speak at all times.

As for voice acting, everyone who has previously voiced a character in one of my dubs reprises their role here – some of them took on a new role too. The Kiwi Dragon (special shoutout to him!!) approached me to try for the Viscount himself and he did a stellar job as well, considering there was no reference since this is the only game with that character. The voice was just spot-on to me. Lab Assistants were portrayed by [CRSHBORT] and irl contacts of mine covered Pura and Tawna (dankjewel!). Really happy overall with how the VA stuff turned out!

Next (and final?) Crash handheld dub will be Crash of the Titans GBA (whenever I get to it, university’s gonna get a bit tougher again with the current situation). Lemme know if you enjoyed this!

Mojo-Siah: Crash Bash Demo in Spyro 3 ‘Year of the Dragon’ w/ access to all levels

I’m not joking, there is a cheat that let’s you play ALL the levels in crash bash. (Maybe not all because they don’t have the levels in the 5th warp room) There are already demos for Crash 3 in Spyro the dragon, Spyro the dragon in Crash 3, Crash team racing in Spyro 2, Spyro 2 in Crash team racing, and Spyro 3 in crash bash. So, if you have Crash 3, CTR, Bash, Spyro 1, 2, and 3, then you’ll also have six demos! You can also access these demos if you’ve got digital versions downloaded from the playstation store. I tried the crash bash demo on my PSP when I had Spyro 3 on there. (But now my PSP needs charged)

Here’s the cheat to the Crash Bash demo in Spyro 3: On the title screen of Spyro 3, Hold L1 and R2 and press square.

Any one want to play Most of the levels in the Crash Bash Demo?
Here’s what you have to do: Go to the menu screen of Crash Bash and press Left, Right, Left, Right, Right, Left, Right, Right Right, Left, Right, Right, Right, Right, Left, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right,
