Earlier today, in Q4 2020 earnings conference call, Activision has stated in their own segment results the following bullet points that are related to Crash Bandicoot as of this quarter:
It is important to note that this quarter ended on December 31, 2020.
- Crash Bandicoot: On the Run:
- March 2021 launch, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! in order to leverage its business and broaden its portfolio with the first new mobile Crash game since CBNK2 on iOS.
- This will broad the global appeal of the IP and introduce more fans.
- King is expected to grow, and they expect very little of that will be from the game, due to it being a new mobile title. They say this is expected and customary, not indicative of low interest/etc.
- Crash was chosen because he fits with the runner genre, and also with the high install quantity as a category. King’s super excited about working with the IP.
- Others:
- Activision plans to further expand the premium Free-to-play model utilized in Call of Duty for other franchises.
- Revenue was driven primarily by Call of Duty and game revenue for Q4 2020.
- Remastered content is mentioned in the Q&A. My assumption goes back to the rumour of Diablo 2 being remade.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has not been mentioned in the conference call, although it is safe to assume that the title has performed alright.
That’s all for now. If there’s any error or missing info, let me know ASAP!
