Even the most hopeful of Crash fans surely didn’t believe Toys for Bob could make something that would hold up next to Naughty Dog’s legendary work on the original trilogy, but Crash 4 is every lesson they learned with the N. Sane collection, and then some.

Skewing for a level of difficulty and pure platforming that lines it up with the first two Crash titles rather than the minigame crowd-pleaser that is part three, Crash 4’s satisfyingly methodical feel also comes with the best cutscenes, voice acting and character portrayals in the entire franchise.
