Today, according to the Eastern Standard Timezone, is the anniversary for the 2nd game in the trilogy that succeeded Crash’s formula and gameplay in a sequel that’s highly beloved by fans and is considered to be the best of the series, even debating it being better than Warped. Another sequel made by the folks at Naughty Dog and was highly successful as well, it received great reviews for its time.
It’s beloved for its balance of platforming challenges, while also making it easier and more accessible for new players, not to mention its amount of hidden and secret paths and collectibles. It’s also compared and contested against Warped due to the better amount of variety balance, not being overloaded with non-platforming levels and gimmicks that overtakes the platforming levels that the series is well-known for.
This game was also included as part of “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy” remakes collection, which released first on PlayStation 4 (Compatible with PS5) on June 30, 2017, and later to Xbox One (Compatible with Xbox Series X|S), Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 29, 2018.
The game in North America has now reached its 23rd anniversary (including reviews released on November 4-5th, 1997), which was released on Friday, October 31, 1997, has a GameRankings score of 88 on the PlayStation.
