Today, according to the Eastern Standard Timezone, is the anniversary for a game that’s well… a strange racing entry in the franchise, where platforming, mini-games and racing with team clashing is all mixed into one package with crude humour on top. This one was the first game done by Radical Entertainment, who have gone later to develop Crash of the Titans, Crash Mind Over Mutant and even the cancelled Crash Landed/I Am Crash Bandicoot game from 2010.
Content from this game has made it into Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, from inspired tracks, characters, karts, skins and more.
The game in North America has now reached its 14th anniversary, which was released on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, has a Metacritic score of 66 on the PlayStation 2, 69 on the Original Xbox, 66 on the GameCube, and 68 on the PlayStation Portable.
