Today, according to the Eastern Standard Timezone, is the anniversary for the 2nd game in the trilogy that succeeded Crash’s formula and gameplay in a sequel that’s highly beloved by fans and is considered to be the best of the series, even debating it being better than Warped. Another sequel made by the folks at Naughty Dog and was highly successful as well, it received great reviews for its time.
It’s beloved for its balance of platforming challenges, while also making it easier and more accessible for new players, not to mention its amount of hidden and secret paths and collectibles. It’s also compared and contested against Warped due to the better amount of variety balance, not being overloaded with non-platforming levels and gimmicks that overtakes the platforming levels that the series is well-known for.
The game in North America has now reached its 21st anniversary (including reviews released on November 4th, 1997), which was released on Friday, October 31, 1997, has a GameRankings score of 88 on the PlayStation.
