So, the guys at Crash Mania really bring some stuff you already knew via this website, but did you know that they also got some awesome merchs for Crash, and a new tidbit about Crash Landed, let me quote it:
A futuristic city called Dubstep District would take place in the fourth island, and it was planned to have an electronic dance theme to fit the environment. The fifth and final area of the game was Cortex Island, where Cortex’s main headquarters would be, as well as the laboratory where he’d experiment with animals. It would have included a level named Packing the Jet, which was purely dedicated to the Firefly Jet-Pack. It featured an upbeat remix of Crash 2’s jet-pack music.

It seems that the person who gave supposedly new info was faking about the jetpack part… I am so sorry that me and HP Zoner felt for that, here is the full letter from the site’s frontpage:
If you’ve been to the Crash Landed page in the past few days, you have probably learned some new information about the bandicoot’s cancelled adventure. I urge you to re-read the page because of some last minute changes. More specifically, a few tidbits were deleted because they were false.
Most details regarding the levels, the presence of Titans in the game and the relation of the game’s cancellation to Call of Duty were fabricated by someone who misled me and many others into thinking he was a developer. After I started having my suspicions about a few things, I confronted this person (who shall remain nameless) and he has since come to admit the upsetting truth.
Here are his words on the matter:
«It was just a fun little experiment to see if the people there bit the bait. It got much further than that when i decided to advertise it on Facebook. It got even worse when my lies were posted on a famous Crash site as big, ground-breaking news, which fooled even more people in the process. I made everything up. I am a fraud. I am a disgrace to the Crash fanbase and this site. I am sorry. I am truly sorry for all that i have done, both to you and everyone else.»
I don’t understand this. I’ve spent over 8 years behind this site trying to collect the most accurate historical representation of this franchise. I’ve never even thought of resorting to something as low as this to get anyone’s attention, and you can only guess how terrible and frustrated I feel about unknowingly spreading lies to my fellow readers, even if they were as small and relatively insignificant as these were. Why would anyone even think it would be a good idea to pose as a developer and trick their fellow fans into believing their lies?
Regardless of my stance on the matter, it’s also my fault for spreading that false information. I can only hope the site’s history and my complete honesty will give you more confidence in accepting my sincerest apologies. This was the first and final time it’s happened – you have my word. I’m well aware that I could have silently removed these little tidbits and almost nobody would have noticed or cared, but that wouldn’t be right, and I think my readers deserve better than that.
The remaining information on the Crash Landed page is all true and has been verified in both official concept art and by some of the actual developers themselves. If all goes well, I may have some new stuff about this game for you in the future. Next time you can be sure I will triple check it until I have some thorough confirmation of its veracity.
